Dee Karl: Game Day in Uniondale
Isles need to redeem themselves, but the Bolts may not let them. - Dee Karl
About time Capuano put Boychuck and his shot back on the top PP unit. One of his many mind boggling moves was taking Boychuck off the PP. Why does he need a fwd on the point? One of Leddy or DeHaan on the point would probably be a better option than Nielsen IMO. |

He wasnt taken off the PP. He was moved from PP1 to PP2 because teams started to notice him and his shot from the point and were cheating him a bit and sustaining pressure on him.
He was moved to PP2 to spread the shot wealth around. This isn't "mind boggling". |

Hes been on PP2 recently(last two games) He was completely removed from the PP for a bunch of games. Nielsen vis and leddy/dehaan/strome on the 2nd pp unit. So yeah it's "mind boggling" when he was putting the points up he was on the PP. He wasnt moved to "spread the shot wealth around" he wasnt on the PP period for an extended time. Irregardless why would you not want your best, most accurate, and hardest shot on the first PP unit? What "shot wealth"? What other defenseman do we have who even has a hard shot? Vis? My back hand is harder than his point shot. |

If teams cheat, and pressure up high, you work it down low......thats the advantage of a pp |

not true, this is complete crap. he was moved off the top pp because visnovsky came back and cappy immediately gave him his spot back despite the success they had been having. If you'll notice, the cheating towards the points actually opens up the down low play, which we have not had any success with since boychuk was off the top PP. You can't get space down low if they don't respect the shot up top.

Power play was working. Capuano tried to fix it. You know the old saying? Enough said. |

Once the forwards got used to working with Boychuk, it was hard to adjust to Viz. I know Capauano likes movement but the skaters are more used to the passing and timing of Boychuk, especially rebound and tip ins. Viz is still great offense wise at even strength. |

Viz is great period. Good defenseman and good on the PP but you don't replace that rocket of a shot with a 50 mph wrist shot on the PP. Give Vis some PP time by all means but Boychuck's shot should be a fixture on the PP. |
